POISONOUS FREQUENCIES

Poisonous Frequencies es un trío de la República Checa formado inesperadamente en 2014. Una suerte de avalancha en la que Federsel, Petr Vrba and Didi Kern se transforman en berserkers mezclando rock, noise e improvisación libre. Mientras Petr Vrba explora siempre las posibilidades, casi infinitas, de su trompeta electrificada disfrazada de guitarra eléctrica,  Tomáš Procházka (aka Federsel) sigue con su obsesión the encontrar el sonido más sucio de su, esta vez sí, distorsionadísima guitarra. Didi Kern, a la batería, cose todo lo anterior con ritmos que pasan por la improvisación, la electrónica o el rock experimental.

HASHIGAKARI

Hashigakari, en homenaje al teatro noh japonés, es el proyecto formado por David Area (electrónica) y Tomás Gris (vientos y objetos), dos prolíficos miembros del circuito madrileño de músicas difíciles. Ambos son responsables del sello discográfico Ex-Nihilo y forman parte de un sinfín de formaciones (maDam, Nebelmeer, Criticon Duo...) además de haber colaborado con, entre otros, If Bwana, Johny Chang o Antoine Beuger. Tras varios años entregados a levantar muros de feedback y distorsión agreste, Area y Gris decidieron renunciar al horror vacui propio del noise para comenzar a explorar una vía que ellos califican como reduccionista o ultra-minimal, donde el silencio se convierte en el elemento central.

FEDERSEL

Federsel is a stage name of Tomáš Procházka, Prague based musician, improviser, sound artist and performer. He works with field recordings, media archeology, all kinds of electric and acoustic instruments as well as purely electronic systems, mostly based on analog electronics. In his solo work uses feedbacks, electromagnetic interference and various parasitic sounds. He performs no input mixing board, prepared guitar and amplified objects or works with various found media as well as instruments, usually not used the correct way. As a guitar player, he is notorious for his annoying sound, taking inspiration from Arto Lindsay’s “guitar skronk”.

He is founder of theatre company HANDA GOTE research & development and play with bands B4, Gurun Gurun, Federsel&Mäkelä, Wabi Experience and also performs solo under second family name - Federsel. He is founder of Wakushoppu concert series, Prague monthly meeting of non idiomatic improvizers. On his own blog Endemit Archives he tries to collect pieces from local deep underground, freak-out, outsider music, plain-weird music, all kinds of antimusic activities and strictly-home-recording audio. PETR VRBA

His unrelenting explorations of non-idiomatic improvisation using trumpets, clarinet, vibrating speakers, egg cutters etc., made him one of the most active experimental musicians in Prague these days. His most intensive collaboration arose from meeting with American musician/composer George Cremaschi (doublebass, electronics) with whom they established Prague Improvisation Orchestra, Los Amargados duo, an international dance-visual-music project Arthuur etc. In 2013 they released “Villa K” album and 2014 “Los Amargados with Susanna Gartmayer”, limited MC with comics. In 2010 Petr became one of the founding members of improvisation ensemble IQ+1 which released in 2011 highly acclaimed CD “tvá?í v tvá?” and in 2013 IQ+1 (released by Polí5), album which was nominated for Czech Vinyla Prize 2013. In 2011 he constituted Yanagi duo with Korean experimenter Ryu Hankil (alarm clock, typewriters). A year later they released their first album “clinamen” waiting for its second album to be released in Korea.

During past years he started and still continues many projects. Among others Petr has played with musicians like Tiziana Bertoncini, Xavier Charles, Isabelle Duthoit, Kai Fagaschinski, Franz Hautzinger, Chris Heenan, Susanna Gartmayer, Matthew Goodheart, Irene Kepl, dd Kern, Christof Kurzmann, Thomas Lehn, Ava Mendoza, Seijiro Murayama, Ivan Palacký, Matija Schellander, Ingrid Schmoliner, Jaroslav Š?astný (aka Peter Graham), Miro Tóth, Michael Zerang etc.

Since 2010 he curates the musical programme of Communication Space Školská 28 which is a multifunctional space for various nonprofit cultural and artistic activities. Since 1994 he plays as a DJ at Radio 1 in Prague (last years include the 13 raw programme), and was also a temporary student of gamelan music at Institute of Art of Indonesia in Yogyakarta (1997–1998).

DD KERN

Didi Kern appears mainly as a musician in rock, improvised- and electronic music. Playing the drums since childhood, starting in rural marching bands. Since the 90s he is best known for his contributions in bands like Bulbul or Fuckhead; he is founding member of broken.heart.collector and plays with musicians like Philipp Quehenberger, Mats Gustafsson, Ken Vandermark, Georg Graewe, Franz Hautzinger etc.
